CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT
Our client is an international Oil & Gas operator managing offshore facilities in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. To support its expanding catering team, the client is recruiting Assistant Cooks for long-term offshore rotations. The role provides direct support to the Cook in all food preparation and galley operations, within a structured offshore catering environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Food Preparation Support
Assist the Cook in food preparation, cooking, and plating
Assist in receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries
Support all galley operations during meal service periods
Hygiene & Stock
Ensure hygiene of work areas, utensils, and galley equipment
Manage and rotate food stocks under supervision
HSE & Compliance
Comply with all offshore HSE procedures and participate in emergency drills
Report any food safety or hygiene concerns to the Cook or Catering Supervisor
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education |
Basic culinary training or equivalent practical experience. |
|
Experience |
Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a catering or food service environment. Offshore or marine experience is an advantage. |
|
Certifications |
BOSIET certificate — preferable / mandatory. |
|
Technical Skills |
Knowledge of basic food hygiene and HACCP principles. Ability to support galley operations effectively. |
|
Languages |
English (working level). Portuguese |
|
Qualities |
Team player, physically fit, detail-oriented. Ability to work in a multicultural environment under rotation schedule. |
|
Job Conditions |
Long-term offshore rotation. Pemba area based. |

CONTEXTO E ENQUADRAMENTO
O nosso cliente é um operador internacional de Oil & Gas com instalações offshore em Cabo Delgado, Moçambique. Para reforçar a sua equipa de catering, o cliente recruta Assistentes de Cozinheiro para rotações offshore de longa duração. A função apoia diretamente o Cozinheiro em todas as operações de preparação de alimentos e cozinha offshore.
PRINCIPAIS RESPONSABILIDADES
Apoio à Preparação de Alimentos
Auxiliar o Cozinheiro na preparação, confeção e empratar dos alimentos
Apoiar na receção, verificação e armazenamento de entregas de alimentos
Apoiar todas as operações de cozinha durante os períodos de serviço
Higiene e Stocks
Garantir a higiene das áreas de trabalho, utensílios e equipamentos da cozinha
Gerir e rodar os stocks alimentares sob supervisão
HSE e Conformidade
Cumprir todos os procedimentos HSE offshore e participar em exercícios de emergência
Reportar qualquer preocupação de segurança alimentar ao Cozinheiro ou Supervisor de Catering
PERFIL DO CANDIDATO

Formação |
Formação básica em culinária ou experiência prática equivalente. |
|
Experiência |
Mínimo 1 a 2 anos de experiência em catering ou restauração. Experiência offshore ou marítima é uma vantagem. |
|
Certificações |
Certificado BOSIET — preferível / obrigatório. |
|
Competências Técnicas |
Conhecimento básico de higiene alimentar e princípios HACCP. Capacidade de apoio eficaz às operações de cozinha. |
|
Línguas |
Português (nativo ou fluente). Inglês (nível funcional) é uma vantagem. |
|
Qualidades |
Espírito de equipa, boa condição física, rigoroso. Capacidade de trabalhar em ambiente multicultural em regime de rotação. |

Rotação offshore de longa duração. Base na região de Pemba. |
